After owning and running a successful energy consulting firm for over 25 years, Bill Monsen formed the Monsen Energy Consulting Group in 2017. He has maintained his hands-on approach with clients: ensuring that deliverables are timely, rigorously checked, and meet the clients' expectations. Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, we are near BART, the California Public Utilities Commission, and are a short drive away from Sacramento.

Bill has been in the energy business since receiving his MS from the Solar Energy Laboratory in the College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He spent 8 years at Pacific Gas and Electric before becoming an energy consultant in 1989. He has sponsored over 100 pieces of expert witness testimony since becoming a consultant. He is an avid ultra-distance bicyclist, having completed over 50 double-century rides and the Paris-Brest-Paris grand randonnee.
